Mid South Therapy Dogs and Friends is a 501(c)3 non-profit charitable organization devoted to providing all people, young and old, the opportunity to experience the magic of the human-animal bond. We are an organization of volunteers who provide animal-assisted interactions in healthcare facilities, schools, libraries, and youth facilities throughout the Mid-South.
We strive to ensure that high standards and safe, humane practices protect the therapy animals. Animals have tremendous potential to help people. However, along with this potential comes the responsibility to continually improve how animal-assisted interactions are delivered.
We provide professional animal-assisted activities/animal-assisted therapy (AAA/AAT) services in healthcare facilities. We consult with the facilities to assist them in developing a Therapy Animal Program. Our members speak about (AAA/AAT) in local, state, and national conferences. Our certified Evaluators and Instructors train and evaluate aspiring therapy-handler-animal teams to provide these (AAA/AAT) services throughout the Mid South.
